Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy enhances the efficacy of lenvatinib plus PD-1 inhibitors in hepatocellular carcinoma patients with tumor thrombosis in the inferior vena cava and/or right atrium.

The combined regimen of HAIC, lenvatinib, and PD-1 inhibitors may improve survival and tumor management in HCC patients with IVC or RA invasion, suggesting a potential therapeutic option for this critically at-risk group. Further research in the form of randomized controlled trials are needed to verify these findings for advanced-stage HCC with vascular compromise.

Assessment of antibodies against platelet factor 4 following vaccination with adenovirus type 26-vectored vaccines.

Ad26.COV2.S and the other Ad26-vectored vaccines studied did not generally induce PF4 antibodies or increase pre-existing PF4 antibody levels. Moreover, unlike VITT, TE events that occurred at any time following Ad26 vaccination were not associated with PF4 antibodies.

Incidence and risk of arterial and venous thrombotic events in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus patients: a population-based study.

Our findings confirmed higher risks of ATE, VTE and all-cause death in SLE patients. While increased CV medications use after SLE diagnoses suggests heightened awareness to CV risk profile, more attention is required to balance SLE disease activity with minimizing exposure to drugs associated with exacerbating CV risk.

Having COVID-19 infection did not significantly influence the symptoms and treatments in patients with hemophilia. Pediatric patients had significantly fewer bleeding events than adults.

Anticoagulation for the Prevention of Arterial Thromboembolism in Cancer Patients by Primary Tumor Site: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Trials.

Based on available evidence, prophylactic anticoagulation did not reduce ATE risk among ambulatory cancer patients overall. However, we observed lower incidence of ATE among pancreatic cancer patients randomized to receive anticoagulation. Prophylactic anticoagulant use to reduce ATEs in pancreatic cancer should be evaluated in future research.

Inpatient Outcomes of Cerebral Venous Thrombosis in Patients With Malignancy Throughout the United States.

Malignancy occurs in 6% of patients presenting with CVT and should be considered a potential comorbidity in instances where clear causes of hypercoagulabilty have not been identified. Malignancy was linked to higher mortality rates. Nonetheless, after adjusting for the severity of CVT, the outcomes for inpatients with cancer-associated CVT were comparable to those without cancer, indicating that the increased mortality associated with malignancy is probably due to more severe CVT conditions.

Time Trends and Excess Mortality Compared to Population Controls after a First-Time Pulmonary Embolism or Deep Vein Thrombosis.

In general, the improved mortality following PE and DVT paralleled population trends. However, PE cases without cancer had decreasing excess 30-day mortality, whereas those surviving to fill a prescription for anticoagulant medication showed increasing excess 1-year mortality.
